use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Fridgio (the "App"). Please read
this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the App.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number through the App.
Device Information
The App may collect the following information automatically:
- Device type and model
- Operating system version
- App version
- Device identifiers (for analytics purposes)
Camera and Photo Library Access
The App requests access to your device's camera and photo library to:
- Capture video or images of your fridge contents
- Select existing images from your photo library for analysis
Important: All video and image processing is performed on your device before transmission. We do not store
or access your photo library beyond what you explicitly share with the App.
Video and Image Data
When you use the App to scan your fridge:
- Video frames and images are processed locally on your device
- Processed data (inventory items detected) may be sent to our API for recipe generation
- Original video files and images are NOT transmitted or stored on our servers
- Processed data is sent securely via HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker backend
Inventory Data
The App may store the following information locally on your device:
- Inventory items you've scanned
- Scan history and timestamps
- Saved fridge states
- Recipe favorites
- Vision observations and confidence scores (for Munchie Vision feature)
This data is stored locally using iOS Keychain (for tokens) and SwiftData (for app data) and is not transmitted to our
servers unless you explicitly use recipe generation features.
API Usage Data
When using recipe generation features:
- Detected inventory items are sent to our API endpoint
- API tokens are stored securely in iOS Keychain on your device
- API requests are logged for operational purposes (without personal identifiers)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Core Functionality: Process fridge scans to detect inventory items
- Generate Recipes: Use detected items to suggest recipes
- Improve App Performance: Analyze usage patterns (anonymized) to improve the App
- Debug and Support: Identify and fix technical issues
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
- iOS Keychain: API tokens and authentication credentials are stored securely in iOS Keychain, which uses device encryption
- SwiftData: App data (inventory, scan history, favorites) is stored locally on your device
- File System: No sensitive data is stored in unencrypted files
Remote Storage
- API Backend: Our Cloudflare Worker backend processes recipe requests but does not permanently store your inventory data
- No User Accounts: We do not maintain user accounts or databases of your personal information
- Temporary Processing: Data sent to our API is processed for recipe generation and is not retained
Security Measures
- All API communications use HTTPS encryption
- API tokens are stored securely in iOS Keychain
- No personally identifiable information is collected or transmitted
- Video and image processing occurs on-device before any network transmission
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare Workers
Our backend API is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Data sent to this service:
- Is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS
- Is processed for recipe generation only
- Is not stored permanently by Cloudflare

OpenAI API (if used)
If recipe generation uses OpenAI services:
- Inventory items (text only, no images) may be sent to OpenAI

Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or in response to valid legal requests
- Service Providers: With trusted service providers (Cloudflare, etc.) who assist in operating our API, subject to confidentiality obligations
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of assets, or acquisition, with notice to users
Your Rights and Choices
Access and Control
- Delete Data: You can delete all local app data by uninstalling the App
- Camera/Photo Access: You can revoke camera and photo library access in iOS Settings
- No Data Portability: Since we don't collect personal information, there is no data to export
Opt-Out Options
- Camera Access: Revoke in iOS Settings → Fridgio → Camera
- Photo Library Access: Revoke in iOS Settings → Fridgio → Photos
- Location Services: The App does not use location services
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.
International Users
If you are using the App from outside the United States, please be aware that:
- Your data may be processed in the United States
- Data is transmitted to Cloudflare Workers (global infrastructure)
- By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States
Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you uninstall the App or manually delete data
- API Logs: Our backend may retain API request logs for up to 30 days for operational purposes
- No Permanent Storage: We do not maintain permanent databases of user data
